PASTA PARTICIPLE 1.0

WHEN: March 1, Wednesday, 10am-2pm

Pasta is a staple in Italian cuisine because it cooks quickly and fills up your appetite quite nicely. But most pasta noodles are made with refined flour (which can spike blood sugar levels) and their sauces can be quite rich and unhealthy. In this class, discover how to make healthified versions of pasta favourites without sacrificing flavour, using vegetables, legumes, nuts, and herbs.

ON THE MENU:

Broccoli mac and cheese

Sicilian-style spaghetti with pan-roasted cauliflower and pine nuts

Spinach and tofu cheese cannelloni

Fettucini with herb roasted vegetables

RATE: early bird rate of P1950 if paid by February 27 Monday, P2250 after February 27 Monday.

sisig

MUSHROOM COOKERY 2.0

WHEN: March 8, Wednesday, 10am-1pm

In this class, you’ll learn how to cook healthy, mushroom-based, vegetarian versions of well-loved dishes. Mushrooms are actually a fungi – not a vegetable – and known as the “meat” of the vegetarian world. Not only are they delicious, mushrooms are high in protein, iron, and B vitamins, low in calories, actually help lower cholesterol, and eliminate toxins from the body. They are a rich source of glutamic acid (natural MSG) and so enhance the flavour of any savoury food.

ON THE MENU:

Cream of mushroom soup

Bruschetta with truffle cream cheese, mushroom bacon, and caramelized onion

Mushroom salpicao

Tofu mushroom sisig with homemade egg-free mayonnaise

*Gluten-free options are available, please specify upon registration.

RATE: early bird rate of P1950 if paid by Monday March 6, P2250 after Monday March 6.

BPI bank deposit, paypal, and credit card option available.

PINOY VEGAN EATS

WHEN: March 22, Wednesday, 10am-1pm

One of the challenges of adopting a plant-based diet in this country is recreating more healthful versions of traditional familiar foods. Filipino cuisine is characterized by bold flavors — sour, sweet, bitter, salty, spicy. But going veg doesn’t have to mean turning your back on culture! In this class, we explored plant-based renditions of favorite popular Pinoy dishes.

ON THE MENU:

Chickpea kaldareta

Tofu mushroom adobo

Tofu steak tagalog

Arroz ala Cubana

~Gluten-free options are available, please specify upon registration.

RATE: early bird rate of P1950 if paid by Monday March 20, P2250 after Monday March 20.

BPI bank deposit, paypal, and credit card option available.
