Juice and smoothie recipes from Greenbelt’s Mommy Fair

I had a fantastic time giving a condensed version of my Juice Up, Smoothie down workshop in yesterday’s Mommy Fair hosted by Greenbelt. The Greenbelt 3 Park was dressed quite lovingly, as if you wanted to have a cup of tea and cookies with your girlfriends despite the 36 Celsius heat. Check out photos at Greenbelt’s Instagram account.

In my 1 hour workshop, I discussed how we live in world where we are constantly exposed to toxins and how toxicity manifests in our body. To flush toxins out, consume more vegetables and fruits! There’s a 2-prong approach to do this:

1. Eat your fruit and veggies.

2. Drink your fruit and veggies.

Here are 3 juice recipes and 1 green smoothie recipe to kickstart your journey to a cleaner, more alkalised, more inner-peaceful you. Juices need a juicer while the smoothie needs a blender.

PROCEDURE

Chop the fruit and vegetables into pieces that will fit the chute of your juicer. Juice to your heart’s content (for the green juice I usually start with leafy greens and end with the apple). Note that calamansi should not be put through a juicer – just squeeze the juice directly into your juice!

PROCEDURE

Tear the leafy greens into bite sized pieces and break the banana into chunks. Add these to a blender with the ice water, and blend until smooth. Alternatively, sub the 3 bananas with 2 mangoes or use a mix! I like to sub buko juice for the water or throw in a knob of ginger or splash of calamansi juice if I’m feeling adventurous.

Enjoy!

  3. Hi, I am from an international recruitment firm where most of our clients requests some additional trainings for their housekeeper before deployment. Will you be having another juice and smoothie class anytime soon? Please send me details (date, venue, topics to discuss and rate) of the classes you’re offering for this month and next month as well? Hope to hear from you soon as I might be able to enroll some of our applicants.

Hi Deanna, sorry for my late reply. Yes I will be teaching a juice workshop with Maya Kitchen in Makati on July 19. Check out their class page here >>> http://www.themayakitchen.com/classes

Their website has 2 schedules for the juice workshop but please note I am only teaching the one on the 19th. Thanks!
